Supporting your Child's Transition into Day Care

At our Day Care, we understand that every child and family is unique. That’s why we don’t follow a “one-size-fits-all” approach to induction. Instead, we offer a flexible settling-in process tailored to your child’s needs.
We provide up to three hours of settling-in time, which can be divided into shorter sessions if that works best for your child. These transition visits help your child become familiar with the environment, meet their key worker, and start building friendships with other children.
Your First Visit to Register
During the initial visit, you and your child will spend time together in Day Care. This is an opportunity for your key worker to learn about your child’s routines, preferences, and favourite activities. It’s also a chance for you to discuss how we can best support your child’s transition from home to Day Care.
'Settling in' Visits
For the next visit, we encourage you to leave your child for a short period. This helps your child understand that you will return and gives us insight into how future visits should be scheduled to ensure a smooth transition.
