We believe that a strong partnership between parents and the Nursery is key to supporting your child’s development. The Centre uses Seesaw, a secure online platform designed to keep you connected with your child’s learning journey. Communication is two-way, so you can also share messages with us. Each child is given an individual access code, ensuring that all posts between families and staff remain private and secure.
To encourage links between home and Nursery, we offer the following opportunities:
Regular posts on our 'Seesaw' platform with updates about the Centre and our activities
Invitations to special events and community groups
Theme weeks, where you can spend time in the nursery, play alongside your child, and learn more about our activities
We also use Instagram and Facebook to share newsletters, updates, and pictures, keeping you connected with what our Nursery children get up to!
Open-door policy
We are always eager to inform you of how your child has settled in at nursery. We encourage an “open door” policy, and you are always welcome to come into the nursery when leaving or collecting your child.
Throughout the year, we’ll share their progress with you through regular parent-teacher updates and a written report at the end of the year.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please speak to a member of our team. We’re here to help and, if needed, we’ll connect you with the right person to support you.
Helping your child to settle into Nursery
Before starting nursery, children are invited to attend small group sessions at the Centre. These sessions provide an opportunity to meet other children and become familiar with the staff who will be caring for them.
We understand that beginning nursery can feel overwhelming for both parents and children. To ease the transition, you may choose to collect your child slightly earlier during the first few days. Our staff are always available to answer any questions you may have.
Collection Arrangements
Children must be collected by an adult known to us. If someone unfamiliar will be collecting your child, please notify us in advance—either in writing or by phone. We also ask all parents to provide a “password” to ensure collection arrangements remain secure.
Children will never be released to a stranger. If you are unavoidably delayed, nursery staff will stay with your child; however, we kindly ask that you make every effort to arrive on time. It can be distressing for a child to see others being collected while they are still waiting. Regular and punctual attendance helps your child settle into nursery and establishes positive habits for the future.
Absences
Please inform us as soon as possible if your child will be absent from nursery for any reason.
